Fire on the Mountain

As I write this, we are watching Waldo Canyon burn.  This is the hottest day in the history of Colorado Springs.  They just on T.V. that this is one of the worst natural disasters we have had in 30-40 years.  There are currently 8 fires burning in Colorado.  We are about to leave to help Jan evacuate.  I am amazed at how a community comes together in times of need.  I am thinking that things just become things in time of disaster.  The needs and welfare of people become foremost. God is proving that he is in control.  Becca said "it feels like the end of the world".  Garden of the Gods is closed as well as all other city parks.  We are safe, but there is a fire to the East of us and the big one going on in Waldo Canyon to the west of us.  It has brought us together as a family.  I just want all of my chickens together so that I can watch over them.  This is a crazy time.  We are desperately praying for rain or at least a reprieve from the heat and wind.
