Lost a bit.

I am proud to announce that my first week on Weight Watchers has paid off with 6 pounds lost.  Yipee for me!  I think part of that weight was lost in sweat as it is so stinkin hot outside.  It's been in the upper nineties this week.

It is way too hot for Colorado as we have two big fires burning out of control  Actually the fire near Fort Collins is about 50% contained.  The fire at Lake George (40 miles west of us) is out of control.  The Fort Collins fire is the largest in our history.  The Lake George fire has burned about 1000 acres. Cooler weather is predicted for tomorrow and Thursday.  Thank goodness.

I have been really busy caring and visiting Sue.  She is to come home tomorrow, so Tom built a railing for her back steps.  It was somewhat a fun job despite the heat.  I think things are ready for her to come home and now she can actually get into her house.

Becca and her friend Kaitlyn are busy helping with Bible School.  That means car pool every day for me.  Laura is away at camp and I miss her.  I don't care how old she gets, I still miss her when she is gone.

I wanted to post something about my dad on Father's day.  I just can't do it yet.  It was a surprisingly tough day for me.  I find that I miss him at the weirdest times.  Friday, I was looking at some flowers, outside the hospital, when I went to help take Sue to the rehab. center.  I thought they were beautiful and my thoughts immediately went to Dad and how he loved flowers. I walked to my car and on the way, a car went by with "Monument Honey Company" posted on the side.  It took my breathe away as it felt like Daddy was right there.  For those of you who knew my dad, you know he was a beekeeper.  What were the chances that I was thinking of him and a honey company car drove by?  Weird. I will post some thoughts about him later, when it is cooler and I can think a little more clearly.
